Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated research scientist for

  • Core Thermal Design of Micro Modular Reactors (MMRs) concept, being developed by IITM Research Park
  • The candidate has to interact with experts in core physics and thermal hydraulics
  • Job includes fuel design, control rod and shut-off rod design

The successful candidate will work closely with our team of experts and focus on the following deliverables

1) Key publications in reputable journals

2) Design and perform simulations, experiments and support with research management

3) Support supervision on B.Tech/M.Tech/PhD students

Educational Qualifications

  • Graduate in Mechanical/Chemical engineering
  • PhD from reputed institutions in nuclear engineering or PhD in Mechanical/Chemical engineering with work experience in nuclear engineering with good publications record
  • Excellent academic record throughout
  • Knowledge in neutronics and radiation shielding
  • Knowledge of Python and MATLAB is preferable

Professional Experience

  • Working knowledge of design codes like ASME Section III and Section VIII Div 1
  • Prior working experience of programming language FORTRAN-90 and C++ essential
  • Familiarity with thermal hydraulic system codes like RELAP/TRACE/CATHARE
  • Familiarity with physics design codes
  • Prior knowledge of CFD codes like Fluent, COSMOL, CFX
  • Proven track record of publishing high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
  • Proven presentation and writing skills
  • Excellent at task management, reporting and project planning
