Dr. K. Ramesha assumed charge as Director of CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), Karaikudi in April 2023. He holds an M. Sc. in Chemistry from Mangalore University and a Ph.D. in Solid State & Structural Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. His postdoctoral fellowships at various U.S. institutions contributed to his expertise in structure-property relationships in magnetic, multiferroic, and spintronic materials. Dr. Ramesha’s specialization lies in energy storage materials, with significant contributions in Li-ion batteries and other emerging technologies. He has published around 100 research papers, including two in Nature Materials, along with two patents. As Director, he led the development of indigenous Li-ion battery prototypes, furthering his contributions to the field.
