About Us:

The Energy Consortium is an umbrella initiative at IIT Madras that spans the whole spectrum of research in energy generation, storage, conversion, and distribution with a net-zero and sustainability perspective. We are an industry-academia-government collaborative effort established with the aim of accelerating the development of technologies that shall enable the energy transition towards a low-carbon future.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow (a suitable title for an experienced person is also possible) to contribute to our end goal of net-zero. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of experts and focus on the following deliverables

Postdoc Appointment Term:

1 year (renewable)

Appointment Start Date:

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Pay: Better than industry standards, performance linked.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conductive and supervising original research, related to sustainability & net-zero goal of the consortium members.
  2. Technical interaction with industrial partners in the consortium. Understanding their need, submitting proposals and delivering the projects.
  3. Project delivery has two components, dissemination of the research outcome as, a) high-quality publications, b) reports and patents in collaboration with industry partner.
  4. Support and supervision of B.Tech/M.Tech/PhD students would be inherent to this task

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a related field, with a strong focus on high quality output including publications, technology development
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: Decarbonization, Sustainability, Applied Chemistry
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
  • Proven presentation and writing skills
  • Excellent at task management, reporting and project planning
